  • FilmWeek @ Grauman's Egyptian Theater, Hollweird CA.
On Sunday (2/10/2008) Emily and I attended KPCC's FilmWeek Oscar Preview hosted at the historic Grauman's Egyptian Theater by Larry Mantle. What a great opportunity it was to hear some insightful discussion on the upcoming 2008 Oscar awards. Sadly, most of the critics got the film of the year wrong - it should be Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood. :)

This wonderful piece of Los Angeles history was built in 1922, before Grauman's Chinese Theater. The first-ever Hollywood premiere,

Broadway - Downtown Los Angeles, California.

Made with my point and shoot Canon PowerShot SD500 at it's widest. Notice the slight bend in the horizontal lines caused by the small lens in this excellent camera.

  • Olvera St. on a warm October night in LA.
My girlfriend and I had dinner at La Golondrina Cafe, our favorite spot on Olvera St. in down town LA. We were accompanied by Emily's sister Michelle and her friend Maria. This is the view from the front of the restaurant (which is in the oldest brick building in LA).

This is not Mexico - just tourist trap.
